Workshop on Autonomy in Political Philosophy

Abstracts are invited for a workshop on Autonomy at the MANCEPT Workshops in

Political Theory. The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers
working on the concept of autonomy and the role it plays in political
philosophy, with a view to identifying what are the most promising and
urgent directions for further inquiry in this area.

Possible topics for papers include (but are not limited to):


• Contrasting conceptions of autonomy;

• Autonomy and neutrality;
• Autonomy as a foundation for liberalism;
• Autonomy and feminism;
• Autonomy and multiculturalism;
• Autonomy and preference-formation;
• Meta-ethical foundations of autonomy.

word abstract, or a full paper, to ben.colburn@glasgow.ac.uk by 15 May 2012.
