HAS Paper Prize


As part of our ongoing partnership with Wesleyan Animal Studies (home of our annual summer fellowship), the ASI and WAS have begun an annual undergraduate prize competition for students pursuing research in Human-Animal Studies. The award will recognize an outstanding original theoretical or empirical scholarly work that advances the field of HAS. Papers must be 4,000-7,000 words long and may come from any undergraduate discipline in the humanities, social sciences or natural sciences. The winning paper will be published in the Society & Animals journal; runners up will get honorable mentions and have their abstracts published in S&A. All three winners will receive a book of their choice from the ASI’s Human-Animal Studies Book Series (published by Brill).
