CALL FOR PAPERS: SYMPOSIUM "THE PHILOSOPHY OF PHILIP KITCHER"


SOCIETY OF LOGIC, METHODOLOGY AND PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE IN SPAIN  (SLMFCE)








Prof. Philip Kitcher (Columbia University) will deliver the first
edition of the Lullius Lectures on Logic, Methodology and Philosophy
of Science. The Lectures will take place at the University of Santiago
de Compostela (Spain), in July, 18th, 19th and 20th 2012, during the
VII General Conference of the SLMFCE. On occasion of the Lectures, the
SLMFCE will organize a Symposium devoted to the philosophy of Philip
Kitcher. Contributions on any aspect of Kitcher’s philosophy are
welcome. The selected papers will be accorded a thirty minutes
presentation during the conference. A selection of the papers will be
published in the Spanish journal Theoria together with Kitcher’s
Lullius Lectures.

THEORIA. An International Journal for Theory, History and Foundations
of Science is published by the University of the Basque Country under
a Creative Commons Licence. The journal was created in 1952 by Miguel
Sánchez-Mazas, THEORIA is one of the leading philosophy journals in
the Spanish-speaking world and a well-ranked publication in the Europe
Science Foundation index (ERIH: INT2). For further information,

People interested in participating in this Symposium of the VII
Conference of the Spanish SLMFCE should send their proposals to María
José Frapolli (frapolli@ugr.es) or Jesús Vega Encabo
(jesus.vega@uam.es), indicating as subject in the message “Kitcher’s
Symposium”, before May 1st, 2012. The authors should send the whole
paper (about 6000 words) or an extended abstract (not less than 3000
words). The received proposals will be evaluated and the final
decision will be communicated to the authors by June 1st, 2012
