First Lisbon International Conference of Philosophy "Thinking the Twentieth Century: Philosophy and its Conditions"

University of Lisbon / October 27-29, 2011

Abstract Deadline Extension until 2011-06-19

The aim of this conference is to think the ways by which Philosophy, in the twentieth century, was called to reflect upon its limits and to reinvent itself, both through the self-reflective practice that characterizes it and by the way it let itself be impregnated by other planes of reality. It is therefore suggested, as a rallying question for presentation proposals, to think the conditions from which Philosophy, in that century, has been produced as a discourse onwith and from these other planes (e.g., art, politics and science). The abstracts, in English and with a length between 150-300 words, should be sent to ciflx@fl.ul.pt until the 19 June, 2011. The e-mails should have the title CIFLx Abstract Submission. The acceptance of abstracts will be confirmed with a reply until the 15 of July.

The proposal abstract should follow the subsequent order: (a) author(s), (b) institutional affiliation, (c) e-mail address, (d) proposal title; (e) summary text (Times New Roman, size 12). Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes (3000 words) and the accepted languages are Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. The selected papers delivered at the conference will be eligible for publication in electronic format with ISBN. Please note that the organization of the conference does not provide support for travelling and accommodation.
