The Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (CAPPE) is an Australian Research Council Special Research Centre that commenced operations in 2000 and is now one of the world’s leading research centres in professional and applied ethics.
As Director, CAPPE, you will be responsible for leading an internationally recognised team of researchers in the area of Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics. We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Philosophy or an equivalent doctorate in a cognate area with a strong research track record in one or more fields of professional and applied ethics. To be successful in this role you will have a background in university teaching/postgraduate supervision and curriculum development together with significant budget management and staff management experience. Your influential leadership techniques and exceptional communication and networking skills will enable you to lead, supervise and manage CSU’s contribution to CAPPE within the context of the 2011-2015 CSU strategic plan.
