The conference aims to assess the political project of the European Union both in its present contours and in its future prospects. It takes place within the framework of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia sponsored research project on “Post-national sovereignty - The European Union path towards a political identity” that the Instituto de Filosofia da Linguagem and the Centro de Investigação & Desenvolvimento sobre Direito e Sociedade of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa jointly carry out.
