We expect to have two AHRC studentships (one for MRes, one for PhD), and one School of Social Sciences Studentship (PhD). There is also the possibility that the PhD awards will be upgraded to the new President's Doctoral Scholar Award. A limited number of International Research Student Awards may also be available.
In addition, as part of the new, three year AHRC funded project, Knowledge of Emotion: Expression and Social Cognition, one further PhD studentship is available (to start in September 2012). This interdisciplinary project, led by Joel Smith and Catharine Abell, will investigate the rational grounds of expression-based attributions of emotion. Research proposals are invited on the topics of social cognition, emotion and the expression of psychological states.
