The Department of Philosophy at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, invites applications for a position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor or equivalent. The position will be full time and permanent subject to normal requirements of probation and confirmation.
Candidates should possess a PhD or an equivalent research record, and, commensurate with the level of appointment, successful tertiary teaching and postgraduate supervision and a record of research and publication in quality journals. Minimum criteria for appointment include, at the rank of Lecturer, evidence of realized research ability and potential and a track record of competent teaching; at the rank of Senior Lecturer, evidence of an independent research profile and the capacity to teach and supervise at the tertiary level; at the rank of Associate Professor, evidence of an independent and innovative research record and a track record of effective teaching and supervision.
