The University of Evansville’s Department of Philosophy and Religion invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Philosophy beginning August 2012. This position will have a teaching load of 6 – 7 courses per year. AOS: Philosophy of Mind (preferred), Epistemology or Philosophy of Science, with AOC in other two areas (must be able to teach upper level courses in all three areas). Candidate will also teach some courses in the philosophy core (e.g., ethics, logic, history) and in the university’s interdisciplinary First Year Seminar program. This appointment is to the Department of Philosophy and Religion, which also supports growing programs in Cognitive Science and Ethics. Ph.D. in hand by August 2012 preferred. Candidates should have an active scholarly agenda and strong interests in teaching at a four-year, private undergraduate university. Salary competitive.
