The Department of Philosophy at Duisburg-Essen University, Germany invites applications for a research fellowship (€ 1,400 per month, tax-free), beginning on 1st January 2012, for a duration of two and a half years.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out independent research for a doctoral thesis in the context of a project on ethical particularism. She or he will have a good degree in philosophy, an analytic approach to systematic philosophical questions and familiarity with the history of the discipline. She or he will participate in regular discussions centring around questions of ethics, action theory and philosophical psychology and play an active role in the interdisciplinary group Case Studies. An interest in teaching is desirable, although there are no teaching requirements.
